Born and raised in Tenerife, from a very young age I was always curious to see and understand what lay beyond the ocean surrounding me. On clear days, like today from El Teide, I could see the neighbouring islands of La Gomera, La Palma and Gran Canaria, yet it never satisfied my urge to explore.

Although I was not yet old enough to travel on my own, many tourists were already visiting the Canaries in the 1990s and it was common for me during the summers to play with British, German and other foreign children — something that very likely forged in me this outgoing, cosmopolitan and welcoming character towards visitors.

After having had the enormous fortune of travelling around half the world and living in several foreign countries, I feel I must apply everything I have learned outside about environmental preservation, respect for traditions and the defence of the land. In the same way, I have the obligation to give back the affection received in other places with passion and admiration for my homeland, showing every visitor the unique natural and scenic value of the Canary Islands.

My goal is, and will always be, to actively contribute to changing the reputation of our land as merely a sun-and-beach destination.
